Undergraduate Research Showcase on the Capital
Deadline: Monday, November 11 at noon.
The Network for Undergraduate Research in Virginia (NURVa) is excited to announce the inaugural Undergraduate Research Showcase at the Capitol on Thursday, February 6, 2025, from 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the General Assembly Building in Richmond, VA.
The Undergraduate Research Showcase at the Capitol is a unique opportunity for undergraduates to share their research and creative scholarship with state legislators and help them to understand why funding undergraduate research experiences across the Commonwealth is so important. We invite YOU to share your research.
Virginia Tech will be nominating 5 student presenters to represent the quality and diversity of research taking place at the university. From our nominations, NURVa will select 3 presenters to represent Virginia Tech. All presentations will be in poster format. There is no charge to present at this event; VT will provide transportation.
Requirements:
- You must be an undergraduate student at VT for the duration of the 2024-25 academic year (December 2024 graduates are not eligible).
- The submitted research project should represent a significant investment of time by the student outside of normal course requirements and class projects. The research project must be of sufficient quality to be presented at a professional academic meeting .
- Only one application per student will be accepted and only one presenter per poster is allowed.
The names of VT nominees will be announced by November 27 and students selected to present their work in Richmond will be announced no later than December 16.
