Job escription
- Maintain the social media presence of VT’s Office of Undergraduate Research.
- Manage social media accounts, including planning and executing social media campaigns, developing content, connecting platforms, and posting regularly.
- Stay up to date on social media best practices and policies for Virginia Tech.
- Maintain a working knowledge of undergraduate research programs, services, and events across the university, but particularly those offered by the Office of Undergraduate Research.
- Professionally engage with faculty and students for lab/research visits and interviews.
- Track data analytics of the Office’s social media accounts.
- Join a community of communication interns working in the Office of Undergraduate Education, including access to unique professional development opportunities.
Required Skills
- Ability to manage social media accounts on platforms including but not limited to Facebook, LinkedIn, and Instagram.
- Ability to create impactful social media content for a variety of platforms.
- Ability to conduct informal interviews, take photographs, and shoot and edit short, informal videos.
- Ability to develop and manage social media campaigns.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to get things done independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills.
